Aqua Oud is a fragrance whose name only tells half the story. There is very little conventional oud in it. What Ahmed Al Maghribi has actually built is a crisp, aromatic marine fragrance with a dry, smoky, mossy base, closer in spirit to the sophisticated aquatic style than to traditional Arabian perfumery. Sea notes and bergamot open it, a herbal heart of rosemary, sage and anise gives it real character, and incense, patchouli and vetiver anchor it. It is one of the more grown up fresh fragrances in our range.

What does Aqua Oud smell like?

The opening is salty and bright. Sea notes give an immediate impression of ozone and sea spray, cool and slightly mineral, while bergamot lifts the top with a clean citrus edge. It is fresh without being sweet, and there is nothing tropical or fruity about it; think coastline in early spring rather than a beach holiday.

The heart is what separates this from ordinary aquatics.
