French Avenue make no comparison themselves. They never name another perfume on their own store. But on this one the wearer consensus is the strongest of anything we sell: around sixty reviewers name Kilian Angels’ Share, and most of them use the word clone or dupe.

Specifically the original Angels’ Share, from 2020, composed by Benoist Lapouza. That matters, because the line now has several versions and they are not interchangeable. Royal Blend Sequoia, the flanker we also stock, follows Angels’ Share Paradis instead, which is the raspberry-and-rose extrait. There is also an Angels’ Share On The Rocks from 2025. What actually overlaps, and what does not. Angels’ Share is published as cognac on top, then cinnamon, tonka, oak and hedione, on vanilla, praline, sandalwood and candied almond. Kilian’s own site gives a shorter list of cognac, oak, cinnamon, tonka and sandalwood, so the two sources differ in depth rather than substance.

Royal Blend shares the spine: cognac, cinnamon, tonka, vanilla and sandalwood. What it leaves out is the praline, candied almond and oak, and those are a large part of why the original reads like boozy dessert. In their place Royal Blend puts plum, myrrh and iris, which makes it fruitier and distinctly more powdery.

So it is close but not a straight copy, and that is worth knowing before you buy. A minority of those sixty reviewers say it falls short, and the missing praline and almond is why. If the nutty, dessert-like side of Angels’ Share is the part you love, Sequoia actually carries praline and oak where this one does not, despite following a different version.

On price. Kilian sell Angels’ Share in sizes from 7.5ml to 250ml. We could not read a pound price from their UK site, so we are not going to quote one. For scale, the Paradis extrait in the same line is $390 for 50ml on Kilian’s own store. Royal Blend is £29.99 for 100ml.
