Next Level is a modern fresh-aromatic done properly: zesty citrus and ginger up top, a cool herbal heart, and that addictive ambroxan glow underneath that makes clean scents feel magnetic rather than plain.
Inspired By
Bujairami’s own listing states that Next Level is inspired by Louis Vuitton L’Immensité. That is the manufacturer’s stated reference, published on their own site, rather than our reading of the scent.
L’Immensité was composed by Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud and launched in 2018. Louis Vuitton sell it at £265 for 100ml through their own boutiques and website only. Next Level is £37.99.
The note lists match completely, which we checked rather than assumed. L’Immensité is published as grapefruit, ginger and bergamot over water notes, rosemary, sage and geranium, on a base of ambroxan, amber and labdanum. That is the same ten notes, in the same three tiers, as Next Level. Worth noting that Louis Vuitton’s own page lists only three key notes for L’Immensité and includes vetiver, which does not appear in the published pyramid at all.
A matching note list is not a matching smell, and we would rather tell you now. Note lists say which materials are present, not their quality or how they are balanced. L’Immensité has a cleaner, airier grapefruit and a smoother ambroxan drydown. Next Level is sweeter through the middle and the ginger reads sharper. It is a close, well-made interpretation at a fraction of the cost, not a replacement bottle.
The comparison refers to the scent profile only. This is Bujairami’s own composition, in its own bottle and its own packaging, which are distinct from the original in every respect. The opening is all energy: grapefruit and ginger with real fizz. Rosemary and sage bring a green, breezy coolness through the middle, and as the day goes on the amber base warms through so it never smells thin.
Performance
Expect solid all-day longevity from the extrait concentration, with the ambroxan base humming close to the skin well into the evening. A natural spring and summer choice that still works year-round. As with any fragrance, exact performance varies with skin type and weather.
