Not every fragrance needs to shout. Chic Wood is proof.
It opens on aldehydes, that soapy, slightly effervescent brightness that instantly signals expensive, paired with bergamot and a cotton-fabric accord that smells exactly like laundry pulled off the line on a cold, clear day. Clean is an overused word in perfumery. This one earns it.
Orange blossom sits at the heart, soft and creamy rather than sharp or indolic. It gives the composition just enough floral warmth to feel human, keeping it from reading as sterile the way some clean fragrances do.
The base is cedarwood and white musk, and it is beautifully judged. The cedar is dry and smooth, not pencil-shaving harsh, and the musk wraps around it to create a skin-close warmth that lasts. There is nothing complicated happening here. That is deliberate.
