Hawas Fire is the release that split the Hawas line’s audience, and it is the more interesting fragrance for it. Where the rest of the family runs fresh and fruity, Fire adds a sweet red-fruit richness over a salty mineral core, with clary sage sharpening the opening and amber holding the base. It is the boldest thing Rasasi has put the Hawas name on, and it projects accordingly.

Rasasi publishes an unusually short list for this one, and wearers consistently report smelling more than it accounts for, particularly a jammy red-fruit accord through the opening and heart that appears nowhere on the box. We have published the official notes rather than guessing at the rest, but it is worth knowing before you buy that Fire smells fuller and sweeter than three lines of notes suggest.
How it wears
The opening is loud and sweet. Clary sage gives an aromatic, slightly herbal sharpness, but what most people notice first is a bright fruity jam, variously described as strawberry, raspberry and cherry, that carries for the first couple of hours and is the single most divisive thing about the fragrance.
Underneath, Egyptian jasmine and marine notes pull it back towards the Hawas house style, giving that clean, salty freshness the line is known for. The combination of sweet fruit and mineral saltiness is unusual, and it is why some wearers call Fire the best thing in the range while others find it too much.
The dry down is where it settles into something more grown up: warm amber, ambergris and a dry mineral edge, closer to the skin and considerably less sweet than the opening. Give it two hours before you judge it.

Formidable. This is one of the strongest projectors Rasasi makes, and owners routinely warn against over-spraying. Two sprays are enough for most occasions, and longevity runs well beyond a working day on skin with clothing holding it longer still. If you found other fresh fragrances too polite, this solves that problem.

Sold for men and it reads confident and mature, though the fruit and florals keep it wearable for anyone who likes the style. It suits autumn and winter best, and evenings, events and occasions where presence is the point.
