Karus Gold Absolu is Khadlaj doing something less expected than the oud and gourmand releases the house is known for. It is a bright fruity floral with a sweet nutty centre, built on candied lemon and blackcurrant rather than spice and resin, and it lands somewhere between a fresh scent and a dessert one without fully committing to either. A 2026 release, unisex, and one of the easier Khadlaj bottles to wear in daylight.

What Karus Gold Absolu smells like
The opening is the loudest part. Candied lemon is exactly that, sugared rather than sharp, and blackcurrant brings a dark, slightly tart fruitiness underneath it that stops the sweetness running away. Bergamot keeps the whole thing lifted. It reads fresh for the first ten minutes or so, and a lot of people form their opinion here.
The heart is where it becomes more interesting. Praline arrives with a soft, nutty sweetness, and magnolia and violet sit over it adding a powdery floral quality. Violet in particular does a specific job: it gives the praline a cosmetic, slightly retro softness rather than letting it turn into straightforward candy.
The dry-down is the quietest stretch. Musk and vetiver only, which is a short base by Arabian standards, and it shows. The fragrance settles close to the skin with a clean, faintly green warmth. If you are expecting the dense resinous finish that most Khadlaj releases have, this is not that.
