Miss Vanilla is the elegant one at the dessert table, vanilla orchid and jasmine over brown sugar and tonka, grounded by amber and a whisper of patchouli. Sweet, yes, but wearing heels.
Inspired By
Bujairami’s own listing states that Miss Vanilla is inspired by Kayali Vanilla | 28. That is the manufacturer’s stated reference, published on their own site.
Vanilla | 28 launched in November 2018 as part of Kayali’s debut line, composed by Gabriela Chelariu. It sells at £110 for 100ml at Harrods. Miss Vanilla is £37.99. That is a narrower gap than most comparisons in this range, and worth saying plainly: the saving here is real but it is not the tenfold difference you get elsewhere in the Bujairami line.
A detail almost every dupe listing gets wrong. The 28 in Vanilla | 28 is not a year, a concentration or a percentage. Kayali number their fragrances by the count of formulation rounds the scent went through, so 28 means twenty-eight reworkings. Anyone writing “Vanilla 28 EDP 28%” has misunderstood the name.
What the original is built from. Vanilla | 28 is published as vanilla orchid and jasmine over brown sugar and tonka bean, on amber, amberwood, musk and patchouli. Kayali’s own site declines to assign tiers at all and lists vanilla orchid, sweet tonka, brown sugar, amber woods and musk as key notes, while Space NK place vanilla surabsolute and vanilla infusion in the heart. The ingredients are consistent across all three; only the tier placement moves.
A matching note list is not a matching smell. Vanilla | 28 has a creamier, rounder vanilla and a patchouli edge that stops it turning sugary. Miss Vanilla runs sweeter and more straightforwardly gourmand, with less of that darker patchouli counterweight. It is a close interpretation, and a sensible way to test the style before committing to the original.
No Vanilla | 28 Intense exists. If you see one listed, it is a mistake: Kayali’s “Eau de Parfum Intense” labelling appears on a mini duo set pairing Vanilla | 28 with Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42, which is a different fragrance, not a stronger version of this one.
The comparison refers to the scent profile only. This is Bujairami’s own composition, in its own bottle and its own packaging, which are distinct from the original in every respect.
