Reef 19 is the cleanest, most transparent scent in the numbered line: dewy lily of the valley over jasmine, resting on white musk. A white shirt in fragrance form, and the easiest bottle in the range to wear anywhere.

A Correction Worth Making

This page used to carry the wrong note list, and we have fixed it. It previously showed jasmine in both the top and the heart, with no lily of the valley at all. That is wrong, and it is repeated on a number of UK listings for this fragrance.

Reef publish the pyramid as lily of the valley, then jasmine, then white musk, and the independent listings match it exactly. The lily of the valley is the whole point of the opening: it is what makes Reef 19 read green and dewy for the first half hour rather than straight-up floral. If you bought this expecting a pure jasmine soliflore because of a listing like our old one, that is on us, and the note list above is now the brand’s own.

One honest caveat on sourcing. Reef’s 100ml page for this fragrance carries marketing prose but no pyramid. The note list comes from Reef’s own pages for the same juice in other formats, the 15ml mini, the 15ml roll-on and the 50ml hair and body mist, which all agree with each other and with the independent listings.

Lily of the valley opens it green, cool and watery, the note perfumers reach for when they want clean without soap. Jasmine arrives underneath, airy and dewy rather than indolic, so it never turns heady or heavy. White musk then extends the whole thing into a soft, skin-close finish that holds for hours. A three-note composition, done deliberately rather than cheaply.

No, and we are not going to invent one. Reef Perfumes do not name another fragrance anywhere on their own site, and unlike some of the numbered scents in this range, Reef 19 has no established wearer comparison either. Across the reviews we read, only one person named another fragrance. There is no consensus to report, so we are not reporting one.

If a listing elsewhere tells you Reef 19 is a dupe of a specific designer floral, treat that as a guess. The fragrance stands on its own as a clean white floral, which is the reason to buy it.

Performance

Light florals wear close by design, and the white musk base is what gives this one its endurance. Expect quiet, all-day presence rather than projection, with longer on fabric. It is very hard to overspray, which is part of its appeal. As with any fragrance, performance varies with skin type and weather.

Spring and summer daytime, offices, and scent-sensitive places where a projecting fragrance would be the wrong call. It works year-round but it is at its best in mild weather, where the lily of the valley stays green rather than disappearing.
