The opening is genuinely crisp. Lemon zest and grapefruit, sharp and clean, with pink pepper adding a dry prickle so it avoids the soapy quality a lot of citrus openings fall into.

Then it shifts. Cedar and ginger come through the heart, dry and faintly warm, and the base starts making itself known earlier than you would expect from the top notes.

That base is the whole story. Labdanum brings a resinous, slightly leathery depth, and alongside sandalwood, amber and resin it takes the fragrance somewhere considerably darker than where it started.

What Seasons Drift Smells Like Over a Full Wear

For the first ten minutes it reads as a straightforward fresh fragrance. Citrus, a little spice, nothing complicated.

Around the quarter-hour mark the labdanum arrives and the character changes. Resinous, a touch leathery, and some wearers read it as faintly animalic.

This divides people, so know it before you buy. If you want a clean citrus that stays clean, the turn feels like a switch. If you find most fresh fragrances forgettable, it is the reason to own this.

Worth correcting one thing you will see elsewhere: there is no marine note in Seasons Drift. The lemon, grapefruit and cedar combination reads airy, which is likely where the description came from.

Seasons Drift Longevity, Projection and Sprays

Longevity runs around six hours on skin, with a refined, close trail rather than a room-filling one.

The citrus opening burns off inside the first hour, as citrus always does. What you wear for most of the day is the resinous base, so judge its performance on that rather than on the first twenty minutes.

Three to four sprays suits it. Moisturised skin holds it noticeably longer than dry skin, and an unscented lotion underneath costs nothing.
