Sugar Mallow is Atralia’s full sweet gourmand and it commits completely. Marshmallow, strawberry and orange open it, whipped cream, vanilla and coconut fill the middle, and it finishes on sugar, candyfloss, raspberry and musk. There is no restraint here and none intended: this is a dessert fragrance for people who like dessert fragrances.

What it smells like
The opening is instantly recognisable as sweet. Marshmallow gives that soft, powdery, slightly toasted quality, strawberry adds a bright fruit lift, and orange keeps the first few minutes from being cloying. It smells like a sweet shop, and that is the point.
The heart is creamy rather than sugary. Whipped cream and vanilla give body, coconut adds a tropical richness, and a light floral thread runs underneath to stop the whole thing collapsing into sugar. This is where Sugar Mallow is at its most flattering.
The base is unapologetic. Sugar and candyfloss dominate, raspberry echoes the fruit from the opening, and musk gives it a clean finish so it does not become sickly on skin. It stays sweet to the end.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
If you like gourmands, this is straightforwardly enjoyable and good value for the style. Marshmallow and candyfloss fragrances are among the most complimented profiles in this part of the market, particularly with a younger crowd.
Be honest with yourself if sweetness is not your thing. Sugar Mallow will not change your mind, and there is nothing in the composition to balance it out the way a woody or resinous base would. This is the sweetest fragrance Atralia makes.
Performance
Good for daily wear. Two or three sprays are plenty given how sweet it is, projection is noticeable in the first couple of hours, and the sugar and musk base keeps it going through the day. Clothing holds it longer.
When to wear it
Autumn and winter suit it best, where the sweetness has cool air around it. In real heat a gourmand this sweet can become heavy, so keep to one spray in summer. It is better suited to casual days and evenings out than to a warm office.
