Pink Cloud is the brighter, fruitier sister to Sugar Mallow. Strawberry, blackcurrant, bergamot and pear open it, wild strawberry, melon and violet fill the heart, and it finishes on ambroxan, caramel, jasmine, dry woods and moss. Sweet, yes, but with a genuinely dry base underneath, which is what separates it from the original.

What it smells like

The opening is a berry basket. Strawberry leads, blackcurrant adds tartness, pear brings a juicy softness, and bergamot lifts the whole thing so it reads bright rather than syrupy. It is immediately cheerful.

The heart stays fruity but turns more floral. Wild strawberry is sharper and greener than garden strawberry, melon adds a watery freshness, and violet contributes a powdery softness that gives the middle some elegance. Orange blossom threads through as a clean floral warmth.

The dry down is the surprise, and the reason to choose this over the original. Caramel gives a light sweetness, but ambroxan, dry woods and moss pull it firmly towards something drier and more grown up. Where Sugar Mallow stays sweet to the end, Pink Cloud finishes clean.

Pink Cloud or the original Sugar Mallow?

They share a name and very little else. Sugar Mallow is marshmallow and candyfloss all the way through, a full dessert fragrance with no dry element to it. Pink Cloud is fruitier at the top and considerably drier at the bottom.

Choose the original if you want maximum sweetness. Choose Pink Cloud if you like fruity fragrances but want something you could wear to work without it reading as a sweet shop.

Performance
