Bloom Theory by Brandy Prestige: An Original Fruity Floral
Worth saying up front, because it is unusual in this part of the market. Bloom Theory is not an interpretation of anything. Brandy lists it as an original creation rather than a fragrance built in the style of an existing one, which puts it in a small minority of the Prestige line.
It opens crisp and green. Bergamot and lemon give a clean citrus lift, green apple adds a tart bite, and patchouli sits underneath from the very start, which is an unusual place to put it and gives the opening more grip than a straightforward fruity would have.
Rose and sandalwood carry the heart, with musk smoothing the transition. The base then turns sweeter rather than deeper, bringing peach, blackcurrant and lilac over amber. Most fruity florals do the reverse and fade toward woods, so the effect here is a fragrance that stays lively for longer than expected.
