Fiorum by Brandy Prestige: Rose, Violet and Incense
Fiorum is a rose fragrance that takes roses seriously. Rose damascena leads from the first spray, the Bulgarian variety that costs the most and smells the least like soap, with pink peppercorn giving it a sharp lift and blackcurrant adding a tart fruity edge that stops it turning old-fashioned.
Rose continues through the heart, joined by violet. That pairing is what produces the powdery quality the fragrance is known for, soft and slightly retro without tipping into cosmetic.
The base is where it separates from the ordinary. Incense against vanilla and musk gives the dry-down a faint smokiness that most rose compositions never attempt, and it is the reason this wears as something more interesting than a pretty floral.

How it wears
Rose is a note that benefits enormously from concentration. In lighter formulations it tends to flatten out within a couple of hours, and the extrait strength here keeps it present far longer.
Year round, leaning cooler. The incense base gives it enough weight for winter while the blackcurrant and pink pepper keep it from feeling heavy in spring.
Who it suits
Anyone who likes rose but finds most rose fragrances either too sweet or too soapy. The incense and violet here push it somewhere more contemplative.
