Elysia is Fragrance World’s gourmand line, and it is the most consistent thing the house makes. Nine fragrances, all 100ml eau de parfum, all built around vanilla, sugar and fruit rather than oud and spice.
The problem is that they look interchangeable on a shelf and are not. The gap between Elysia Vanilla and Elysia Vanilla Sugar is wide enough that buying the wrong one is a genuine disappointment, and Elegance barely belongs in the same line at all. This guide covers what each actually smells like, which to buy first, and which to skip.
The short answer
Buy Elysia Vanilla if you want the one the range is known for and you are not sure where to start. It is the most grown up of them and the easiest to wear.
Buy Lychee Fizz if you want something light, fresh and summer-friendly.
Buy Sugar Patchouli if sweet fragrances usually feel too young on you.
Buy Elegance if you do not actually want a gourmand, because it is a floral.

Elysia Vanilla

The anchor of the line and the one most people are searching for. Vanilla orchid is a rounder, more floral interpretation of vanilla than the bakery version, so the opening is soft and elegant rather than sugary. Brown sugar and tonka warm the middle, and the amber, patchouli and musk base keeps it from becoming dessert.
This is the most wearable Elysia and the one that works in an office. If you have been put off gourmands because they smell young, this is the one that will not.
Elysia Vanilla Sugar

Despite the shared name, this is a different fragrance rather than a sweeter version of the one above. Jellybean and bubble gum in the heart tell you everything: this is deliberately candied, playful and loud about it.
The saving grace is the base. Patchouli, cashmere wood and sandalwood give it more structure than the heart suggests, so it does not stay a sweet shop all day. Buy it if you genuinely like sweet. Do not buy it expecting Elysia Vanilla with more sugar.
Elysia Marshmallow
The simplest composition in the range and better for it. A single pop of raspberry opens it, bright and slightly tart, lasting only a few minutes before whipped cream and vanilla take over. The ambroxan base gives it a radiance that most soft gourmands lack.
Soft, powdery and comforting. The closest thing the line has to a cosy winter fragrance.
Elysia Apple Rouge

The most complex opening in the line. Four fruits at the top, with red apple leading and blackcurrant adding the tartness that stops it being jammy. The floral heart is the part people do not expect, and it lifts the fruit rather than competing with it.
Easier to wear in warm weather than the dessert gourmands, and a good choice if fruity is your preference over sweet.
Elysia Lychee Fizz
The brightest and lightest of the nine. Lychee is a distinctive note, sweet and faintly rose-like rather than simply fruity, and the blackcurrant and lemon keep the opening tart instead of syrupy. The vanilla and sandalwood base connects it back to the rest of the range without weighing it down.
The summer pick, and the one that handles genuine heat where the sweeter Elysias become heavy. One note on sourcing: unlike most of the range, Lychee Fizz has no independent Fragrantica entry, so its notes come from Fragrance World rather than a neutral source.
Elysia Sweet Banana
Exactly what the name promises, and the most divisive bottle in the range. Ripe banana opens it, soft and mellow rather than sharp, with pear doing the clever work of keeping it from smelling like a sweet.
Coconut and jasmine give the middle a tropical creaminess, and the vanilla and sandalwood finish is smoother than you would expect. If banana as a fragrance note sounds unappealing, trust that instinct. If it sounds fun, it delivers.
Elysia Pista Sundae

The most interesting composition in the line. Pistachio in perfumery is green, milky and slightly salty rather than straightforwardly nutty, and pairing it with hazelnut, cardamom and rum gives the opening real character.
It becomes a creamy dessert in the dry down, but the cardamom and rum keep a spiced edge running underneath. If you want a gourmand that is not just vanilla, this is it.
Elysia Sugar Patchouli

The grown-up one, and the only Elysia with oud in it. The opening is boozy and fruity at once, rum bringing warm spiced alcohol and plum adding depth. Creme brulee in the heart gives the caramelised sweetness, while osmanthus, a flower that smells of apricot and soft leather, adds something unusual.
Patchouli and oud in the base pull the whole thing away from dessert and towards something darker. This is the Elysia for evenings and for anyone who finds the rest of the line too young.
Elysia Elegance

The outlier, and arguably misfiled in a gourmand line. Released in 2025, it is a proper fruity floral: bright citrus and stone fruit at the top, then a genuine floral heart built on magnolia, white peony and centifolia rose, the May rose grown around Grasse.
The vanilla and praline base is the only part that connects it to the rest of Elysia, and even then it stays restrained. Six to eight hours of wear. If you have been looking at this range and thinking it all sounds too sweet, Elegance is the answer.
Which Elysia should you buy?
If you want the signature: Elysia Vanilla.
If you want maximum sweetness: Vanilla Sugar or Marshmallow.
If you want fruity rather than sweet: Apple Rouge or Lychee Fizz.
If you want something unusual: Pista Sundae.
If you want it darker and more serious: Sugar Patchouli.
If you do not want a gourmand at all: Elegance.
If you cannot decide: the 2ml samples of Vanilla and Vanilla Sugar cost very little and settle the question on your own skin, which matters more with this range than most because the gap between the two is so wide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best Elysia by Fragrance World?
Elysia Vanilla is the most popular and the most versatile, built on vanilla orchid and jasmine over brown sugar and tonka. It is the one to start with if you are unsure.
What is the difference between Elysia Vanilla and Elysia Vanilla Sugar?
They are different fragrances, not two strengths of one. Vanilla is soft, floral and grown up. Vanilla Sugar is deliberately candied, with jellybean and bubble gum in the heart. Do not assume the second is simply a sweeter version of the first.
How long do Elysia fragrances last?
Most sit in the six to eight hour range on skin, with the sweeter compositions lasting longer on clothing. Applying to moisturised skin makes a clear difference with gourmands.
Are Elysia fragrances only for women?
They are marketed to women and most lean that way in wear, though Sugar Patchouli and Pista Sundae are comfortable on anyone who enjoys gourmands. Scent is not gendered; marketing is.
Is Elysia good value?
Yes, for the style. These are 100ml eau de parfums at a price where most houses sell 50ml, and the compositions are more considered than the price suggests, particularly Pista Sundae and Sugar Patchouli.
Which Elysia is best for summer?
Lychee Fizz, comfortably. Apple Rouge is the next best. The dessert gourmands amplify in heat and can become heavy.
