Hawas Malibu by Rasasi 100ml Eau De Parfum
Hawas Malibu takes the line somewhere none of the other flankers go: a sharp, juicy pineapple and grapefruit opening over an unexpectedly soft powdery heart, finishing on tonka, musk and cashmeran. Released in 2025, it is the most polished of the fruity Hawas releases and the one that reads least like a summer scent by the time it dries down.

How it wears
The opening is bright and tart. Pineapple leads with grapefruit sharpening it and orange rounding the edges, giving a fizzy citrus-fruit burst that is closer to a cold drink than to a tropical dessert. It projects well in this phase.
The heart is the surprise, and it is what separates Malibu from the crowd of pineapple fragrances. Orris brings a cool, powdery, slightly rooty quality, lavender adds an aromatic herbal edge, and amber warms the pair. The fruit is still there but it is now framed by something considerably more grown up.
The dry down goes soft and clean. Tonka bean gives gentle sweetness, cashmeran adds that plush woolly warmth its name suggests, and musk and patchouli hold it close to the skin. What began as a juicy summer opening ends as a smooth, powdery musk you could wear to an office.
Performance
Good projection through the first couple of hours, then a comfortable all-day skin scent. Solid longevity in line with the rest of the Hawas range, and better than most fruity fragrances at this price.
When to wear it
Spring and summer suit the opening best, but the powdery amber base means it holds up in cooler weather far better than a straightforward tropical scent would. Daytime, work and casual wear are its natural home.
Who is it for?
Genuinely unisex. The pineapple and grapefruit read fresh rather than gendered, and the orris and musk base is neutral. It suits anyone who likes fruity openings but finds most fruity fragrances too simple or too sweet. For a creamier tropical instead, Hawas Tropical goes the coconut and fig route, and Hawas Ice is the crisp apple and citrus option.
