Haakim opens crisp. Green apple and lemon together, tart and clean, with musk sitting alongside them from the very start rather than waiting for the base. That early musk gives the opening a softness most fresh fragrances lack.

The heart turns warmer quickly. Tonka bean brings a sweet almond-hay quality, ambroxan adds projection and a mineral-amber lift, and geranium contributes a rosy sharpness. It stops being a fresh fragrance somewhere around the thirty minute mark.
The base is the substantial part, and it is unusually detailed for the price. Two different cedars, Virginian and Atlas, alongside vetiver and oakmoss, with Madagascar vanilla softening the whole thing. Dry, woody and genuinely long-lasting.

How it wears
The ambroxan and the two cedars carry this considerably further than the fruity opening suggests. Expect real projection in the first few hours and a dry woody skin scent for the rest of the day.

Who it suits
Anyone who wants a fresh-woody daily driver rather than something with character. This is a workhorse fragrance, easy to wear and hard to get wrong.
