Riiffs is a Dubai house launched in 2018 and produced by Sterling Perfumes Industries, one of the largest fragrance manufacturers in the Middle East. That backing matters: it means Riiffs manufactures rather than commissions, which is why the performance is consistent across a catalogue that has grown past ninety releases in seven years. Shinichiro Oba is credited as the nose behind much of the range.
What the house does well is projection and longevity at prices that do not suggest either, wrapped in some of the most ornate bottles in Arabian perfumery. The community rates it accordingly, with an average close to 7.6 out of 10 across more than 1,200 ratings on Parfumo, which is strong for a house of this size and price.
Where to start. Freeze is the icy mint and citrus release that gets the most attention, and Freeze In Flames is its extrait-strength sibling. Veloce is a fruity gourmand extrait, Taif heads into floral oriental territory, and Costa de Amalfi is the Mediterranean citrus option. For something warmer, Zenith and Areebah sit at the richer end.
One practical tip. Riiffs fragrances are widely reported to settle and improve after a few weeks in the bottle. If a fresh bottle feels thinner than expected, give it a month before judging it.
