Diplomat by Brandy: Sea Salt, Grapefruit and Red Amber
Diplomat opens on a genuinely oceanic accord. Sea notes and sea salt together give it a briny, mineral freshness, with grapefruit adding sharp citrus brightness. It reads clean and energetic from the first spray.
Bay leaf and geranium carry the heart, herbal and slightly spicy, with a hint of unspecified warm spice running underneath. This is where the aquatic opening starts picking up weight rather than staying purely fresh.
Red amber and guaiac wood close it out, and the shift is considerable. What began as a crisp marine scent lands somewhere warm and resinous, which is an unusual and effective arc.
