Khalta by Brandy: Oud, Leather and Vetiver
The name means blend in Arabic, and that is a fair description of what this does. Khalta opens brighter than an oud fragrance usually dares, with Sicilian bergamot and pink pepper giving it a sharp citrus-spice start, and davana adding an unusual fruity-boozy quality underneath.
The heart is where the oud arrives, paired with white amber and, unexpectedly, rosemary. That herbal note is a genuinely unusual choice against agarwood, and it gives the middle of the wear a dry, aromatic edge that most Arabian ouds do not have.
Leather, musk and Haitian vetiver close it out, dry and earthy rather than sweet. The whole composition avoids the vanilla-and-amber landing that most affordable ouds reach for.

How it wears
Leather and vetiver are persistent materials and this holds through a full day. The bright opening is short, giving way to the oud and rosemary heart within the first half hour.
Autumn and winter, evenings more than daytime. The dry finish makes it less oppressive indoors than a sweeter oud would be, but it is still a substantial fragrance.
Who it suits
Anyone who wants oud without sweetness. If sugary Arabian gourmands are not your thing but you like agarwood, this is the bottle in the range that addresses exactly that.
