Sherry’s Angel by Brandy: Basil, Green Fig and Sandalwood
Sherry’s Angel is the most unusual fragrance in the standard Brandy range and the one least like anything else on the shelf. Basil and spearmint open it, and that is not a combination you meet often. Herbal, cool and almost culinary, it smells green in the literal sense rather than the perfumery sense.
Green fig carries the heart. Fig is a difficult note, milky and slightly sappy with a hint of coconut, and here it is paired with ginger for warmth. The fig keeps the herbal opening from feeling like a salad and the ginger stops the fig turning cloying.
Sandalwood and tonka bean close it out, creamy and soft. That base is what turns a sharp green fragrance into something comfortable to wear for a full day.

How it wears
Herbal and mint notes are volatile and the opening will fade within the first half hour. What carries the day is the fig, sandalwood and tonka, which sit closer to the skin and last considerably longer.
Spring and summer. This is a fresh green fragrance and cold weather does it no favours.
Who it suits
Anyone bored of citrus and aquatics as the only fresh options. Green fig is a genuinely different proposition and it makes this memorable in a way another lemon fragrance would not be.
Not for anyone who wants sweetness or warmth. If that is what you are after, Lily Of Valencia goes the salted caramel route instead.
