Vanilla Vibes by Brandy: Rum, Crème Brûlée and Oud
Vanilla Vibes is the most maximalist composition in the standard Brandy range. Seventeen notes, and rather than one clear idea it layers everything a boozy gourmand could reasonably want.
Rum opens it alongside vanilla orchid and jasmine, boozy and slightly floral from the start. The heart piles on: vanilla proper, crème brûlée, tonka bean, spice, and then rose and leather, which are not notes you expect in a dessert fragrance and which give it an unexpected edge.
The base is where it becomes genuinely unusual. Brown sugar and sugar sit alongside patchouli, amber, musk and agarwood. Oud in a vanilla gourmand is a bold choice, and it is what stops this collapsing into pure sweetness.

How it wears
Sugar, amber and oud are all long-lasting materials, and this holds all day and into the next morning on fabric. It is not a subtle fragrance and it does not become one.
Cold weather only, in honesty. In a warm room this is a great deal of sweetness at once.
Who it suits
Anyone who wants a vanilla with weight and darkness rather than a soft, powdery one. The oud and leather here take it somewhere most vanilla fragrances never go.
If you want the boozy angle at extrait strength with a cleaner structure, Vannila Vio in the Prestige line runs cognac and cinnamon over a shorter, sharper note list.
