Saffron Noir by Brandy: Saffron, Leather and Dark Berries
Saffron Noir is the most unconventional composition in the standard Brandy range, and the note order is part of why. Raspberry sits in the base rather than the top, which is the reverse of where fruit normally goes, and it means a thread of dark sweetness runs underneath the whole wear instead of vanishing after ten minutes.
It opens on saffron with juniper berries and Chinese grapefruit, sharp and slightly medicinal, more bracing than warm. Then leather and black violet take the heart, and this is where it turns properly dark. Violet against leather is a difficult pairing and gives the middle a cool, almost inky quality.
Cashmeran and vetiver finish it alongside that raspberry, warm and musky over something earthy and dry.

How it wears
Cashmeran and vetiver are both persistent, and the composition holds well through a full day. The saffron opening is the sharpest phase and softens considerably within the first hour.
Autumn and winter suit the leather and violet best, though it is dry enough not to become oppressive indoors.
Who it suits
Anyone who wants something genuinely unusual rather than another warm amber. The leather and violet combination is not common at this price and reads considerably more expensive than it is.
